~Engagement Photos~

A huge THANKS goes out to Renee, my sister in law, for helping us out with our engagement photos!! She did a fantastic job! The places we went to get these fabulous pictures taken were: the Pottawatomie State Lake #2, the Goodnow Museum, a very colorful tree close to where I work, & on Top of the World lookout point in Manhattan where Aaron proposed!! Be on the lookout at our wedding (5.15.10) for the pictures that will be displayed in a scrapbook I put together~Can't wait!! We're both getting very excited!!

Future Mrs. Aaron Thornton!!!

Aaron popped the question on Tuesday, March 3rd, 2009!! It was a normal day, but when I asked him if he wanted to go w/me to get my car washed, he offered to get ice cream @ Vista afterwards so of course I agreed! (I can never refuse ice cream!) After we went through the car wash, we switched out drivers 'cause my head was hurting...and he drove us to Vista~then drove us to the Top of the World (viewing point, supposedly the highest point in Manhattan). When we were star gazing he asked what one star was on the west horizon and I was straining my eyes to see what he was talking about...and then BAM!!! Something bright blinded me (b/c he had a lighted box~very impressive!) and he shocked me to the point where I was instantly bawling my eyes out!! I turned around and he asked me if I would marry him and I said YES!!! I seriously had no idea what he was planning~and it could never have been any better b/c our song started playing on the CD (which he didn't plan at all!!) which is 'Stay with You' by John Legend...great song~& not too popular>I suggest you check it out sometime! The best part is Aaron asked my Dad for permission the Sunday beforehand on our way back from our friend Cheryl's wedding~! He's such a great guy & I'm so incredibly happy to be with him! Thanks to those of you who have given congratulations already~we're both very excited!! Oh, and May 15, 2010 is going to be our big day in Hanover @ the Zion Lutheran Church where I was confirmed!! We're so excited!

The time for RoCkInG...

It's been awhile since I've posted anything, sorry about that...but not a whole lot has been going on, except for ROCKING of course! Many Friday's have past where Strange Unit has performed...playing @ my friend, Emily's house, then at Mels and just this past Friday (the 13th...Oooo) they had a gig @ PJs. I got a few co-workers of mine from Bramlage to show up @ PJs~(Eric, Sarah & Sareesa-top pictures).
I've been having a great 2009 so far and I hope everyone that's reading this is too! Take care~

Birthday/Anniversary!

July 29th was Aaron's 27th birthday & the 30th was our 3 yr. anniversary!! We didn't really do a whole lot to celebrate, but we went to the movie theater and watched The Dark Knight. As for the day of our anniversary we went to the Mercy Hospital w/a bunch of friends to see Kenny & Bridgette's' new (and 1st) baby girl, Abigaile Jane Johnston. I got to hold her right away, and then Aaron held her afterward~it was such a cute & precious sight to see, not to mention funny seeing Aaron all nervous!! I understand it can be really nerve-racking to hold a new born~don't get me wrong~but it was the first time I've seen Aaron hold a baby!

As you can see by the picture~Aaron bought me this beautiful arrangement from Steve's Floral (his favorite place to get me flowers at!) and he actually sent it to me at work! He said he wanted to make the other girls jealous at the same time making me feel special~I was just happy to be surprised! It brightened my day to receive these flowers 'cause just the day before, I had a really bad day at work...my boyfriends really knows how to make me feel special! Man these past 3 yrs. have flown by!

Strange Unit

The 1st bar crowd my boyfriend's played in front of is shown here at PJs' in aggieville! He joined the band about a year and a half ago, and has played a few times at Travis' kitchen in Ogden (close to Manhattan, KS) and then they also played once outside/in a shed just outside of Leonardville, KS (20 minutes north of Manhattan). There was a great turnout! There were supposed to be two other bands performing (Power Glove & Terror Tractor) but Power Glove's van hit an Elk in Colorado on their way here on tour!! Yeah, sucks, I know...right?! Hope they're okay and all...AND that they reschedule here again sometime in the future!
I also have a short video clip of one of Strange Units' songs that Aaron sings in...I'll go ahead and post that on here as well~so someone can check it out! Sorry that the sound is weird, my camera is needing a desperate upgrade! I apologize as well that I'm cheering a little on the loud side at the end~I didn't know how to shorten up the video clip! I hope you enjoy!

Okay~wow, I just uploaded the video and sorry that it's really dark, but you can still hear Aaron singing a little bit with Strange Unit, and DEFINITELY hear me at the end screaming...be sure to place the volume down a few notches!!

Braylon's 1st birthday!

Here's Braylon on his 1st birthday celebration, trying to sit down on his Lego tub (one of his presents) which hasn't been turned upside down yet! It almost worked, but I thought his lil' booty was goin' to get stuck in there! It's pretty cute~he's such a big boy already~!!

My life so far...

Welcome to my very first blogging-thingy place! I found this site through my sister-in-law and found it a very nice way to keep in touch with my family and friends (my parents are shown above!)! I may not be using this very often, but it's nice to have a little something in case someone decides to actually read what I have to show-in-tell. The biggest thing in my life so far is becoming an Aunt and Godmother to the cutest lil' man alive, Braylon Anthony! He just turned one year old yesterday, and we celebrated his birthday last Saturday. I can't believe how fast he's grown in just a year! I can't wait to see him again~and he only lives a couple of hours away with my brother and his wife. I'll be sure to share any fun pictures or video clips on here, if I can figure those things out. It might take me awhile. I hope you've enjoyed my rendition of the exciting life of 'GravysGirl', which, Gravy is, by-the-way, is the nickname of my boyfriend...in case anyone wondered.
